This four (4) week class is the second level of Scentwork. We introduce the first essential oil, Sweet Birch but we will work with all the odors used in the sport: Essential Oils of Birch, Anise, Clove and Cypress for experienced teams.
Once the odors have been introduced, the dog no longer searches for food.
Instructor Nancy Frensley is a certified Scentwork instructor and AKC Scentwork Judge. This class offers a class curriculum that is suitable to prepare your dog for competition.
Dogs must be over 4 months of age.
Dogs in this class must be able to stay in a crate out of sight of their owners. Dogs will be crated during class for the safety and comfort of all participants.
Pre-Requisites / Requirements
Dog must have taken Introduction to Scentwork with any instructor and should be current with distemper combination and rabies vaccinations.
Vaccinations: Your dog should be current on Distemper Combination and Rabies. If you have taken a class with us within the last year, you do not need to submit a vaccination form.

As the Lead Trainer at Train the Bay, Nancy spent the last three decades dedicated to her training work, to developing the program, and to helping Bay Area dogs and their families. In addition to the hundreds of students she teaches every year, she is the voice behind Berkeley Humane’s free Behavior Advice Hotline, and she evaluates and supports the training of shelter dogs at Berkeley Humane.
